After many years playing the "rat race" game, I finally own Eileen of Avoca, my small but seaworthy boat. Now it's time to escape the self-imposed prisons of debt, monotony, and false ambition and weigh anchor.
While I left Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight in 2007 the real journey begins now, and I invite you to share it with me.

Back on Eileen of Avoca in Almerimar. Snow on the mountains and storm force winds. Looks like I'm staying put for the moment.

Eileen of Avoca sails to Menorca, Spain. Esta muy linda!

Cagliari Sardinia... a hop back to Belgium [hence the lag in updates] and now I'm on the move again with renewed hopes of leaving the Med!

In Palermo to access the Internet and check weather info for the sail to Sardinia... At least I'm out of the whirlpools of Messina!

Playing tourist in Catania Sicily until the weather improves. Severe gales last night. So happy to be safe in port.
